Oil on Gesso Paper Sachem’s Head 9x12 inches

Before the storm was really raging I was on the harbor diving in to the rich grays. Literally singing in to the wind. So happy to be out in it and able to paint. Grateful for the water and sky and the long view to the horizon, islands there, still, in the darkness. Surprised myself. Broke my own rules and painted in that Flasher #22. The adventurer in me I guess. Remember to thank the gods for the things that keep you safe. Packing up, the wind blew my panel off the easel. Way less than 50% odds a panel will land face up, but this one did a summersault and landed on it’s back. Unharmed.
